Frequently Asked Questions

Who can sell ads with the AdTaily widget?

Everybody! Where should you use AdTaily?

  • Blogs:
Have well targeted communities of readers. It’s not the number of readers that really counts, but quality of the readers – this is very attractive to advertisers, but not well supported by current monetization solutions.
  • Medium sized sites:
The inventory is already substantial, but still no direct sales team is present. By installing multiple widgets in different sections AdTaily will optimally monetize the content.
  • Large sites and portals:
AdTaily helps monetize new projects that are not yet attractive to large advertisers. Both niche and local sections are well served with AdTaily – just like local classifieds.
  • Apps, services:
AdTaily doesn’t have to be limited to editorial content – its design and underlying API allow to use it in applications, services and user-generated content sites.

As many as you want. The widget will take as much space as the publisher will allow it, which means that if you want, you can restrict it to display one or two ads, otherwise it will adjust its size/capacity to the size of the page.

How does AdTaily make money?

We make money when we bring additional revenue to the publisher. This happens if the ad is bought via our store or one of our advertising partners. In other words – we take part of the money the publishers wouldn’t normally make.

Why only one format (125×125)?

Having only one format of ads solves two important problems for advertisers: they can serve all publishers with the same creation and what’s more, publishers don’t have to worry about the availability of a slot of a particular format at chosen time.

Why direct display (no targeting, keywords, capping etc.)?

Choosing a display ad on a particular page is incredibly fail-proof. As much as advanced targeting might be beneficiary, it’s also prone to mistakes and technical failures. It results in situations when the ad is paid for, and the advertiser still can’t see it being shown. Our model is similar to niche magazines selling small box ads – business owners understand how they work, and know what to expect from them. That’s why their adoption and retention rate as AdTaily advertisers is so high.

Why charge per day (not CPM, CPC etc.)?

The long tail of advertising (average small business owner) is a bit less technically advanced/knowledgeable than companies that operate in the online world 24/7 (e.g. large ecommerce sites). Buying 1000 impressions that go away in 2 minutes seems to them to be a scam. What they do understand is paying, even a few hundred euros, for a two-day advertising campaign on a website tailored to their target.
